Beyond Creator
WE WILL CHALLENGE YOUR PERCEPTION OF ART
Welcome to Art Beyond Creator
Discover the essence of art through our unique event exploring the intersection of human creativity and artificial intelligence. Join us October 11 at MACA, Amsterdam for an experience that will challenge your perception of AI-generated art
about
The idea for “Art Beyond Creator” project was born from observation of numerous discussions within AI art groups, where comments frequently centered around how AI-generated art is perceived as lacking effort and, therefore, unable to evoke emotion. Many argued that “machine art lacks emoting” and can’t be a “real art”. These discussions highlighted a potential bias since participants were aware they were critiquing AI art. This sparked my curiosity about whether the general public’s perception would shift if the origin of the artwork—AI or human—was unknown.

Art perception research
Our experimental art exhibition is designed to be an immersive and thought-provoking experience that challenges your perceptions of art created by humans and artificial intelligence. Here's what you can expect:
1. Anonymous Interactive Art Display
- As you enter the exhibition space, you'll be invited to contemplate a series of anonymous artworks. These pieces, created both by humans and AI, are presented without any indication of their origin.
- This setup allows you to engage with the art on a purely emotional and aesthetic level, free from any preconceived notions about the creator.
- Take your time to observe each piece, reflect on your feelings, and note any thoughts or emotions that arise. This initial phase is all about connecting with the art and exploring your genuine reactions.
- Enhancing the Experience: Throughout the exhibition, Al-generated music composed by a musician will play in the background, enriching the atmosphere and deepening your engagement with the artworks.
2. The Big Reveal
- After the initial contemplation, join us for an exciting reveal.
- On the big screen, we'll disclose the origins of the artworks, unveiling whether they were created traditionally or generated by AI.
- Alongside this reveal, we will share insights about the creators, their techniques, and the stories behind each piece.
3. Audience Insights and Discussion
- Once the origins of the artworks are revealed, the floor will be opened for the audience to share their insights and reactions.
- Engage in a dynamic discussion about your experiences, how the knowledge of the creator influenced your perception, and the broader implications for the art world.
- This interactive session aims to foster a deeper understanding of the essence of art and the role of AI in creativity.
